So thrilled, you did a fantastic job, and the narration is superb. Claire Baylis, author of Dice, told me she listened to it in the car, then sat in the car enthralled...superb. I'm so grateful!

FAQs

Explore our FAQs to find answers to common questions about the audiobook recording process, pricing, and casting narrators.

How do I make an audiobook? There is a lot to consider when making an audiobook in regard to sound quality, recording specs and distribution contracts. Crescendo Studio manage the recording part only. To enquire about making an audiobook, we recommend contacting AudiobooksNZ.

How long does it take to record an audiobook? The time it takes to record an audiobook depends on a number of factors including the length of the book, the experience of the narrator, if there are character voices and if there are charts/graphs that need explaining. As a gauge, an average-size novel would take about 20 hours to record in the studio.

What does it cost to make an audiobook? The cost will depend on the narrator, if you are self-recording or using a professional, and the studio time.

How do I get work narrating audiobooks? Crescendo Studio doesn't cast narrators, this is done by audiobook production companies. However, we can make you an audiobook audition reel to submit to producers.
